The PDP is the national data protection authority in charge of the effective protection of personal data.

The PDP is responsible for the National Register of Databases designed for the updating and control of databases.

The PDP advises and assists data subjects and it receives complaints and claims against data controllers for the violation of the right to information, the right of access and the rights to rectify, to update, to suppress or to keep confidential the information.

In this regard, the purpose of the PDPis to investigate whether the database at issue complies or not with the principles set forth in the law and its regulatory provisions.

Furthermore, the PDP also comprises the Do Not Call Register, the Dubious ID Register and the Infringers Register.
